Imagine losing your passion over and over again. That's what happened to me.

As a new mom, I was exhausted and stressed out; yes, being a mother is rewarding and a beautiful experience. But the truth is, I was so overwhelmed that I began to lose my sense of self and purpose. The deeper I buried myself into being a mom, the worse it got.

Years prior, I had lost my sister, and my brother was on the verge of dying. This pain was unbearable. In addition to dealing with this heartbreak, I experienced a traumatic miscarriage, which left me questioning my self-worth. I was still carrying all this grief and loss with me into my new life as a mom.

When I became a mom, I thought it would be easy to transition into raising children and taking care of my family, but what was supposed to be effortless and fun was rather stressful and overwhelming on many occasions.

I felt like I was a bad mom, a terrible wife, and not the person I wanted to be. I was stressed out, could not sleep, and often felt like a zombie during the day. I had no energy for anything.

I needed a break or a vacation, but what I needed was some real self-care, not a bandaid or a quick fix but a total lasting solution to get me back to the joyful life I had always imagined.

I was losing connection with my husband, and all my relationships felt inauthentic. I overheard my father tell someone that all I do is take care of my kids. As if I was an empty shell, a placeholder to look after children and nothing else, no dreams, goals, or aspirations.

All this was rock bottom for me, and I needed to let go of everything holding me back from being the best mom I could be. I needed to manage the grief, stress, emotions, and feelings that stopped me from showing up for myself. The moment I realized that by not showing up for me, I was consequently not committing to my kids, I knew I had to change.

I was no longer hiding behind the mom struggle, the excuses, or the embarrassment of not being happy when I had a wonderful family. I did the work and made substantial positive changes in my life.

So how did I get to this point? I completed my Yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia, with Zuna Yoga and my meditation teacher training with Yogi Charu. I am a mindset coach, yoga, and meditation teacher who is on a mission to help you live the life you desire with more patience, peace, and purpose.
